RIO GRANDE THEATRE 2024 SUMMER CAMP FAQ
Below are some of the frequently asked questions we have received regarding summer camp. If you have other questions please feel free to reach out to us here!
– If I sign up for one of the modules (Shows) does that also get my kid into the summer camp classes?
Signing up for Midsummer Night’s Dream and/or Sammy’s Swap does not guarantee you a spot in the summer camp. To be registered for the summer camp itself you must select that you also would like to participate in the summer camp. Campers who select to only take part in the shows will have to be picked up by a parent or guardian after their rehearsal time is over.
-Is lunch provided for the daytime summer camp?
We will have a lunch hour each day from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Lunch will not be provided by the camp and all campers will be required to bring a lunch box and water bottle. We also will allow delivery if a camper has parental/guardian consent to use services like Uber Eats, Doordash, etc. Campers will not be allowed to leave the theatre to go to a restaurant or store for lunch.
-Is the camp Monday thru Friday?
The daytime summer camp will be Monday thru Friday, 11:00AM to 4:30PM. Except for Holidays. Picke up will be from 4:30pm to 5:00PM. Campers who are registered for either Play are permitted to stay during the crossover between each module.
-What is the summer camp schedule?
A tentative daytime camp schedule can be downloaded HERE. Subject to changes, final schedule will be delivered to parents prior to Summer Camp.
-Does my child have to have previous experience with theatre?
No experience is required! We encourage everyone to join us as we work from the ground up so that those new to theatre have an opportunity to learn and those with some experience get to grow!
-Is the theatre/summer camp ADA friendly?
The theatre is ADA friendly with ADA access to the theatre itself and to the stage. Everyone is welcome here!
